3-6-2009 / 7-6-2009助洪家姐弟筹款Traders show they care for orphans

PASAR malam traders and shoppers showed they had kind hearts when they contributed RM5,500.80 within four hours for a pair of orphaned siblings in Penang.
Ang Cheng Hiang, 15, and Ang Thiam Hock, 12, who are both facing major examinations later this year, lost their parents in a tragic accident on Jan 12 when a factory bus crashed into a car and six motorcycles at Jalan Tengah in Bayan Baru.
Their father, Ang Gim Chye, 40, died on the spot while their mother, Khoo Poh Him, 37, succumbed to her injuries a week later.
The fundraising drive was a joint effort by the MCA Bukit Gelugor division, the South-West District Night Markets Association Committee, the Paya Terubong Rukun Tetangga coordination committee and the Farlim Night Market Haw-kers’ Association.
Around 300 members from the associations donated part of their earnings for the night at the pasar malam in Bandar Baru Air Itam.
The Southwest District Night Markets Association Committee contributed RM500.
Laminated bookmarks and key-chains made by the Desa Intan Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) youths were given to donors.
Division chairman Datuk Koay Kar Huah said: “The money raised will alleviate their (orphans’) financial burden and allow them to continue their education as well as cover their daily expenses.”
A similar fundraiser will be held at the Desa Permata night market in Jalan Paya Terubong on Sunday.
Also present at the fundraising drive were Paya Terubong MCA service team chief Koh Wan Leong and Paya Terubong KRT coordination center vice-president Kung Cheow Teik.

洪家姐弟的遭遇是非常不幸，在今年一月十二日当天，年纪小小的姐弟就在一夜之间失去双亲的爱，他们心中的悲痛不是一般人所能够了解的。虽然面对艰苦的人生挑战，这对姐弟毅然勇敢地面对生活。
我们发觉社会还是充满爱，因为身为大姨（本身拥有4个孩子）的邱宝音夫妇欣然扛起教养这对姐弟的责任，政党及团体也不分你我大家合力给予协助，这就是人的真善美一面。
当我们获知这对 姐弟的遭遇后，马华武吉牛汝莪区会三机构即刻联合垄尾选区睦邻协调中心理事会共同到浮罗山背拜访他们，并策划为洪家姐弟筹募生活教育费。我们在短短的两个 星期内成立了工委会，开始为洪家姐弟筹募生活教育费的工作。我们计划办两场的筹款活动，那就是在发林夜市场（星期三）和宝石花园夜市场（星期日）分别进行 筹款活动。
我们只是发挥带领的角色，在一群热心的社会人士的呼应下，我们结合众人的力量成功为这对姐弟筹募一笔为数RM8500.80的生活教育费（发林业市场RM5500.80; 宝石花园夜市场RM3000.00），让他们暂时安然度过这段艰难的人生道路。我们要感谢进行义卖活动的同志、发林及宝石花园的夜市场小贩、西南区夜市小贩工会以及所有的公众人士，感恩大家对洪家姐弟的爱。
我们深信，当爱心的种子播放后，以后的日子陆续会有更多的众善出现，让大家共同体现和创造一个充满温馨及爱心的社会。
